Salary Range:  $80,000 - $100,000 (negotiable based on experience)

The Nebraska Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence is a statewide advocacy organization committed to the prevention and elimination of sexual and domestic violence, human trafficking, stalking, and other forms of violence.  We believe that in order to build a more just and equitable society, we must dismantle the systems that have harmed, excluded, and silence individuals and communities by creating inclusive and anti-oppressive policies and practices.

The work of the Executive Director and full organization is based upon a strong anti-oppression framework, incorporating primary prevention strategies, grass-roots activism, cultural humility, social change, and social justice into all efforts.

The Executive Director will work in close partnership with the Board of Directors (BOD), Network of Member Programs, and Coalition team members to further the mission, vision, and values.

Highlighted Responsibilities:

·        Provides leadership and manages efforts to achieve the goals of the organization.

·        Ensures the Coalition has the adequate resources and diversified funding available to support its mission, vision, and values, along with fulfilling the goals identified.

·        Serves as the primary liaison between the BOD, team members, donors, Network of Member Programs, and funders.

·        Provides capacity building support to Nebraska’s Network of Member Programs  and allied organizations.

Community Engagement Coordinator

The Nebraska Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence is seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator.  Come work with a small but mighty team in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Salary Range:  $45,000 – $55,000

Work Hours:      Flexible, with hours typically between 8:00 – 5:00, Monday – Friday

Location:            Ability to work from anywhere most days, with required team meetings in office one week per month

Travel:                 Statewide and occasional out-of-state travel

Supervisee:       Young Leaders Engagement Coordinator

Job Summary

The Community Engagement Coordinator will lead the way in mobilizing communities across Nebraska to create social change around sexual and domestic violence, dating violence, human trafficking, stalking, and intersecting oppression.  On behalf of the Coalition, the Community Engagement Coordinator will identify and pursue innovative partnerships and initiatives to strengthen communities in a holistic way that supports all aspects of safe and healthy community living.  The Community Engagement Coordinator will collaborate with Nebraska’s network of domestic violence/sexual assault programs to build their capacity for engaging communities on a local level as well, via training, technical assistance, and support.  This work will require a strong anti-oppression framework, incorporating primary prevention strategies, grass-roots activism, cultural humility, social change, and social justice into all efforts. 

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Build partnerships with stakeholders to assess and address Nebraska’s needs around sexual and domestic violence, dating violence, human trafficking, and stalking.
  2. Build capacity among community partners to develop and implement comprehensive and inclusive intervention and prevention services, and other topics related to social justice, privilege, and oppression.
  3. Work with Nebraska’s network of programs to build their capacity for engaging communities at the local level. 
  4. Participate on the Coalition’s Training Team, with a focus on community engagement, diverse populations, movement building, anti-oppression work, and primary prevention.
  5. Supervise the Young Leaders Engagement Coordinator, a part-time position devoted to engaging young leaders in the movement.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  2. Experience, understanding and commitment to advocating both individually and systemically, on behalf of survivors and communities impacted by sexual and domestic violence, dating violence, human trafficking and stalking.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of sexual and domestic violence, dating violence, human trafficking and stalking, with an in-depth understanding of primary prevention. 
  4. Experience in community engagement, capacity building, and mobilization.
  5. Demonstrated public speaking, training, writing, and communication skills.
  6. Experience in developing informational materials.
  7. Understanding of digital communication basics, including social media strategies.
  8. Experience with grant management, implementation, and reporting.
  9. Access to own transportation and willingness to travel throughout Nebraska and occasionally out of state.
  10. Flexibility in scheduling, including overnight stays, and extended days.
  11. Experience supervising or leading others in projects.
